Posted; November 17, 2022

Ultraleap and Lynx today announced that they have been named a CES® 2023 Innovation Awards Honoree for Lynx’s R-1 headset, powered by Ultraleap hand tracking.

The Lynx R-1 is a standalone Mixed Reality (MR = AR + VR) headset built on top of Qualcomm’s XR2 Snapdragon platform. It is the most versatile MR headset available and provides a new world of opportunities for XR experiences.

It combines everything you would expect from a state-of-the-art Metaverse device including a large field of view, spatial audio, high-quality 6DoF tracking and colour passthrough. The Lynx headset ships without controllers, featuring Ultraleap’s world-leading hand tracking software as its primary interaction method.

Stan Larroque, founder and CEO of Lynx, said: “We truly believe we have the opportunity to create the European Champion of Mixed Reality. This CES honor means we’re one step closer to achieving that. We’re lucky to work with the best technology companies in the world including Qualcomm and Ultraleap, who have been fundamental to the success of the product. We look forward to showcasing the Lynx R-1 and its potential during CES and beyond.”

Matt Tullis, VP of XR at Ultraleap, said: “We’re proud to work alongside Stan and the rest of the Lynx team to help bring this ground-breaking product to life and showcase the power of hand tracking to even more people.”

This year’s CES Innovation Awards program received a record-high number of over 2100 submissions. The announcement was made ahead of CES 2023, the world’s most influential technology event, happening Jan. 5-8 in Las Vegas, NV.
